　映画同様にめちゃくちゃ豪華で楽しいサントラです。フーの"My Generation"は未発表ライブ、レニクラの"American Woman"も60年代風に渋く、映画でお茶目に使用されていたコステロ＆バカラックの"I'll Never Fall In Love Again"はD.ワーウィックのヴァージョンに忠実なアレンジながらこれまたよい！マドンナの新曲だった"Beautiful Stranger"は華やかで流麗な名曲。Q.ジョーンズの"Soul Bossa Nova"はオリジナルと違いM.マイヤーズの声がサンプリングされてるもので、楽しい。6曲目はDr.Evilヴァージョンのラップだけど、これまた脱力系で笑えます。欲を言えば映画で出てきたジョーン・オズボーンの"One Of Us"の脱力カヴァーを入れて欲しかったけど。4曲以外は全て未発表またはリミックスです。輸入盤でも収録曲は同じです。売れただけあって今では激安で入手できますね。今まで待てた人が羨ましい・・・。

映画をご覧になった人ならご存知のはずですが、映画は６０年代のパロディ。その凝りようも凄かったが、使った曲も凄い。当然、６０年代の名曲が並んでいる。ザ・フーの「マイ・ジェネレーション」未発表ヴァージョンでオリジナルとちょっと異なり、ピートのギターキレまくる。「アメリカン・ウーマン」「二人のシーズン」のカバー。嬉しいのはバート・バカラック＆エルヴィス・コステロの「恋よさよなら」。これ以外は、マドンナがオープニング曲「ビューティフル・ストレンジャー」。ＲＥＭやグリーンデイなど大物が参加。ラストはクインシー・ジョーンズの「ソウル・ボサ・ノヴァ」。マイク・マイヤーズのイエイ・イエイ・ベイビーも入っている。映画と同じでごった煮ながら美味しく出来上がったオリジナル・サントラ。いいですね。

とってもおバカな最高のお笑いエンターテイメント映画・オースティン・パワーズ２作目のサントラです。マドンナの新曲、レニー・クラヴィッツの歌うアメリカン・ウーマン、クインシー・ジョーンズのソウル・ボサ・ノヴァ等々つかみ所の無いサントラだけどなかなかイケてるんじゃないかな。
