Dookieの大ヒットによってスターのように扱われる一方、生真面目なパンクスにはとても嫌われてしまい、
色々ストレスがたまりにたまって一種のパニック状態に陥ってしまった頃の彼らが作った「Insomniac」
他の方も言ってますが意味は「不眠症」です

「それいけ！俺たちは死ぬんだ　祝福されて絶滅していくんだ」というJadedの歌詞が、この頃の彼らの全てを表していると思う。
皮肉と自嘲と怒りに満ちたネガティブな歌詞ばかりですがそれを乗せているメロディは勢いがあって爽快。
Brain StewとJadedの繋ぎ方は本当にかっこいいですし、他にもArmatage Shanks、Stuck With Me、Geek Stink Breathなど良い曲がそろってます。

３０分間有無を言わせずとにかく爆走、絶望的な気分だけど、だからこそとりあえず突っ走れ！みたいな雰囲気は本当にGREEN DAYらしいと思う。
「プライドなんて呑みこんじまったほうがいいぜ　さもないとそいつで窒息しちまう　価値観なんて消化したほうがいいぜ　どうせクソになるんだから」
と歌うNo Pride、GREEN DAYなりのプライド。
おすすめです。GREEN DAYの中で最も激しくてどん詰まりな気分の時最高の友達になってくれるアルバム。本国じゃ酷評されたこのアルバムですが、彼らを好きならばぜひ聴いてみてほしい。

1stアルバム「ドゥーキー」が売れ続けている中で発売されたGREENDAY（グリーンデイ）の2ndアルバム。
アルバムタイトルを和訳すると「不眠症」である。
1stアルバム「ドゥーキー」はGREENDAYの想像をはるかに超えるセールスを記録した。
その為、GREENDAYを取り囲む環境は一変した。
要するに気が狂ってもおかしくない日常が続いた。
このアルバムはそういったフラストレーションが吐き出された内容の曲が多い。
「ドゥーキー」に比べると、アレンジ面はシンプルになり、突進性が増した。
しかし、そんな中でもこの段階では異色といえる「Brain Stew」という曲もある。
（「Brain Stew」⇒「Jaded」の繋ぎ部分は何度聞いても爽快）
「ドゥーキー」と比べると評価は低いのかもしれないが、個人的には好きなアルバム。
むしゃくしゃした時に聞きたくなる一枚。

これはグリーンデイのアルバムでは、かなり聞きやすいほうで、出来の方もイイ線いってると思います。全部いい曲ですが、中でも３、４、６、１０、１１、１４を特にオススメします。歌詞カードが本型ではなく1枚の紙で、出来ていたのに驚いた。ひらくのが面倒。
値段は、シングル一枚と変わらないくらいの値段なので、試しに買ってみては？
