”浅く広く”音楽を聴いている私の中で、数少ない”追求した”アーティストが柳ジョージ。このアルバムはその昔中学生の頃、初めて手にした。それまで興味もなかったので「青い瞳のステラ１９６２年夏」はこのアルバムで初めて聴いた。それまで聴いた歌の中で１番ショックを覚えた。まだまだ外国なんて知らない私にアメリカの臭いを運んでくれる曲が多く収録されていた。今でも何か辛いことがあったりすると、頭の中で流れてくる音楽は「青い瞳の・・・」だったりする。レイニーウッド時代の「ＦＥＮＣＥの向こうのアメリカ」が収録されていればこれ以上はなかったのだが、それは人それぞれなので仕方ない。何しろベスト盤とか何とか関係なく、私の人生の中で確実に上位にランクされるアルバムであることは間違いない。

良いアルバムだよ。

ってか、昔付き合ってた女を思い出したり
してしまうのも歳のせいかな。

柳ジョージの優しさが溢れてる。

真夜中に車運転してると、9みたいにセンチメンタルな気持ちになることあるね。柳ジョージのかっこよさはクラプトン的ダンディズムやセンチメンタリズム。弱さも含めてさらけ出してしまう男のかっこよさ。渋い。

ジョーちゃんのベスト盤は沢山でてるけど、レイニーウッド解散前~ソロデビュー４作までのこのベストが一番無駄なく全曲名曲ばっかりがパッケージされている。なんで廃盤なん？ワーナーさん！
