Ｋillyng me softly with his songをＣＭソングとしてしか、耳にしたことのない方々に是非聞いてみて欲しいです。アルバムとしての完成度も高く、ロバータのこだわりが、伝わってきます。2曲目Jesseは、当時天才少女シンガーソングライターといわれた、ジャニス・イアンのオリジナル曲で、とても美しいバラードです。どの曲も、いまなお新鮮です。感涙ものの名盤！

日本では、ネスカフェのＣＭでお馴染みの「やさしく歌って」。ロバータ・フラックの歌ったこの曲は、１９７３年のグラミー賞ベスト・レコード・オブ・ジ・イヤーを獲得し、全米ＮＯ．１に輝きミリオン・セラーの大ヒット曲であり名曲中の名曲です。

「やさしく歌って」をフィーチュアした、このアルバムは、ロバータ・フラックの魅力を凝集したような素敵な作品です。まだ黒人差別が残されていた時代、黒人音楽といえばＲ＆Ｂ、ソウル、そして性的魅力というパターンを打ち破り、知性と音楽的才能によってアメリカばかりか世界中に”音楽による愛”を伝えました。彼女の歌声、彼女の醸し出すメロディーには、心を癒す響きがあります。どなたにもお薦めの素晴らしい作品です。

アバウト・ア・ボーイって映画で歌っているのを見て、欲しくなり買いましたがやっぱり良かったです。
