68年に結成された、イギリスのプログレッシヴ・ロックバンドである。幾度となくメンバーの交代劇があったものの、数多くの傑作を生み出したことで知られる。81年に解散するが、83年には新生イエスとして復活し、本作をリリースした。
それまでに比べると、かなりポップな音楽性をうち出している。単調なようだがビートのきいたタイトルチューンの<1>は、全米No．1を獲得したばかりか、ディスコでももてはやされることとなった。そんな彼らを軟弱者扱いするかつてのファンをよそに、この作品の成功をメンバーは大いに喜んだそうである。（春野丸緒）

アトランティックの英語の方のタイトルは,ただ単に90125。番号だけじゃ可愛そうなのでこういう邦題をつけたんだろうけど,内容は燃えるハートそのもの。小気味の良い切れ味でイエスが蘇えってくれた。次作が楽しみだ。
