カーリー・サイモンの大ヒット曲「うつろな愛」を含む3作目。その時々の状況や背景を率直に作品に反映させる人ですが、この作品でも1、5は当時の夫、ジェームズ・テイラーへの愛を表現した曲。彼の曲も1曲取り上げていますし、コーラスにも1曲参加しています。彼女の最大の魅力はやはりあのやや低音でソフトなヴォーカル。1枚通して聞くと適度なまったり感に包まれます。ただ、育ちのよさのせいかベッタリはせず、あくまで肌触りはサラっとしたところが良さです。凄みはないけど、ふっと癒されたいときにどうぞ。

このアルバムにおさめられている「うつろな愛」は、ホントに、もう、最高の曲です。おまけに、バック・ヴォーカルを、ミック・ジャガーが務めるという嘘みたいな豪華さ。この曲にはまった人は相当多いはず！
他にも、ポール＆リンダ・マッカートニーが参加した「ナイト・アウル」

ビートルズやローリング・ストーンズのメンバー達とよく共演する、クラウス・ブアマン、ジム・ゴードン、ジム・ケルトナー、ニッキー・ホプキンス、ボビー・キーズなど豪華ミュージシャンが参加したアルバム。

それにしても、この頃のカーリー・サイモンのヴォーカルが素晴らしい。
最も輝いた瞬間だと思う。彼女の最高の作品だと思う。

　もう、30年以上前の曲なんですね。当時、中~高校生だったから、それだけ感性も新鮮だったんでしよう。（今、じ~んとなる曲がほとんど無いのは、その感性の衰え?が原因しているのでしょう）
　その頃、正直言ってあまり好きではなかった。どことなくカントリーぽいところが。でも、最近、なぜか「うつろな愛」のイントロが聞きたくなって、購入しました。

　良かったです。お薦めです。声質、コード進行（展開が絶妙）、アレンジ…。じっくり聞かせてくれます。
　「うつろな愛」ももっとトドロドロした重たい内容かと思いきや、訳詞を読むと、実に日常的で、シニカルだったりして、調べて行くほどに、興味深い。
　70~80年代に青春した人、当時の思い出に浸るに、必聴の一枚になること間違いなし。
