Matchbox 20の1stアルバム。このたった1枚の作品で彼らは90年代を代表するロックバンドに！！
洗練された2ndや3rdと比べると歌も演奏もかなり荒削りですが、そこに魅力があるように思います。特に、#1~#4の流れは鳥肌モノです。
大ヒットしたPushも良いですが、個人的にはデビューシングルのLong Dayをベストカットとして挙げておきます。Vo.ロブの魂の叫びのようなシャウトが伝わってくるとても情熱的な曲です。

Matt Serleticがプロデュースしているだけあってcollective soul系列のロックバンドのデビュー作。
バンドのVoでありソングライターのロブがAl Green、Elvis Costello、等が好きであることを公言していおり、いろんな年代のリスナーや様々なジャンルのファンでも取っつきやすそうなロック。微妙にルーツテイストを持ち合わせたMODERN ROCK。まぁ理想的なＡＡＡと言ったら良いだろうか？
本作は次作以降の派手さはないが、ラフさ荒々しさがあって彼らのベスト。

ヴォーカルのロブ・トーマス最高です。　
この人こそまさに“カリスマ”と呼ぶにふさわしいでしょう。
歌声、詩、楽曲　すべていいです。
一回聞いたら彼の声は忘れない．．．
