感情が激しくぶつかってくるアルバム。痛いほどですが、引き込まれて聞き入ってしまいました。核をはじめ、泣き叫ぶようなブルースハープも圧巻です。

１０代の頃、このアルバムを聴くと率直に従来の内容とは違うと直感的に感じました、何か全体的にもの悲しい感じというか、とにかく聴いていて悲しい気持ちにとらわれていたので、当時はあまり聴きませんでした、しかし最近何気なく聴いて、このアルバムの奥深さ、尾崎の真価というか、今改めて聴いても新鮮に聴こえるこのアルバムのクオリティと尾崎の才能に感嘆するばかりです、個人的には、アルバム収録の「核」よりもマキシシングルの「核」のアレンジの方が好きですし、カップリングの「街角の風の中」は尾崎の優しい歌声が感じられ最も好きな名曲です、このアルバムに「太陽の破片」と「街角の風の中」の２曲を収録すれば、全体的アルバムのイメージが明るくなったと思いますが、それでも当時の尾崎の内面世界を描写する名作です

籠の中で鬱積してるような圧迫感があります。
こんな精神状態の自分など誰も見つめたくないんでしょうが、その性分からそうせざるを得なかった彼の一番生生しい叫びがつまったアルバムでもあるでしょう。これ以降のアルバムは、以前の若者にとっての共通認識的な旗手の存在から、個人としての内面を探る求道者に変貌していきます。多くの彼のファンは、その変貌ぶりについて行けなかったようにも言われますし、逆にそのことが彼を追い詰めたとも言われています。個人的には、これ以降の作品の方がより人間としてリアルなものを感じます。
美徳に対しても、退廃に対しても依存せず、真実を見つめることの中に美徳も退廃も等価値に混在し、それを自分1人で抱え込むことの尊さと、怖さを教えてくれる作品です。
