　まず際だつのは、上野洋子氏の歌声の美しさだ。涼やかで透き通った風の様な歌声がのびのびと音を紡ぎあげていくのが、例えようもなく耳に心地よい。まるで水のように体に染み込んでくる。ここにきて一段と表現力に磨きがかかった歌声は必聴。「五つの橋」「アジアの花」「Psi-trailing」は特に秀逸だ。

　吉良氏の飾り気ないセクシーな歌声や、巧みなギターも健在。今回は特に作曲が光る。アコースティックの持ち味を前面に押し出した曲の数々は、繊細さや優しさ、そして懐かしさは勿論のこと、力強さや雄大さを同時に持っている。ブーズーキやティンホイッスル、そのほかパーカッション類など様々な民族楽器などの取り入れ方も非常に上手い。

　このアルバムの後、上野氏はZabadakを脱退する。「桜」は（ベストアルバムを除いて）上野氏参加の最後のzabadakアルバムとなったわけだが、その区切りにふさわしい円熟した作品。

このアルバムを手に出来たことを、有難く思います。私にとって、「百年の満月」は一生、耳に残っていく名曲だと思っています。この曲に出会って８年、いつ聴いても色褪せない、素晴らしい曲です。勿論、その他の曲も素晴らしい、絶対手放せない一枚です。
