　イタリア出身のプログレ・バンドの’７１年発表の３rd。
　だが、いわゆるビート・グループから、ラヴ・ロックから転進しての初の作品でもあり、本作が、この生まれ変わったバンドの出発点と言う見方も多く、タイトルもそれを意味しているらしい。
　その象徴ともいえるのが、バックに流れる壮大なオーケストラである。それが、いかにもイタリア風のロマンティックで哀愁のあるメロディと、壮麗なコーラス・ワークと融合し、絶妙なハーモニーを生み出している。
　やはりオペラの本場と言うべきか、このオーケストラの使い方が巧い。ただいたずらに盛り上げるだけではなく、楽曲のタイプによって応用自在に押し引きし、メリハリがついている。
　そういう意味として、まさしくプログレッシヴであり、イタリアン・ロックの新たなる幕開けに相応しい内容を誇っている。
