   音響技師である夫の器材ケースから、誘拐されたはずの女の子を発見する。思いもよらぬ出来事に夫は狼狽（ろうばい）するが、霊能者の妻はこの事件を利用し、自分をあざけってきた世間を見返してやろうと、ある計画を企てる…。
   役所広司扮する音響技師が「納得いかないことがある。運命です」とつぶやくように、本作品は「突然降りかかってくる、避けようのない非運」を描いている。少女誘拐、夫婦の前に現れる少女の霊、罪が罪を呼んで、自ら最悪の選択をしていく主人公といったホラー映画の要素と、思いもよらぬ災難にあったときに吹き出してくる人間の不満やもろさを巧みなプロットに仕立て上げている。
   黒沢清映画の常連、大杉漣が、作品に独特のユーモアを加えている。（野澤敦子）

~世間的には「呪怨」などがあれだけヒットしているわけです。
で、AMAZONのレビューでも黒沢監督の描く恐怖には否定的な人も多いですね。
自分は「呪怨」のあのお化け屋敷的恐怖があまり好きではありません。
出た瞬間はそりゃビビるのですが、結局「役者がそういう演出意図に基づいた芝居をしている」ように見えてしまってシラケるんですよね。
で、この降~~霊ですが。傑作です。
まず相変わらずの引いた演出。これが素晴らしい。
よくこの黒沢演出のままテレビで流せたなと、今にして思えば不思議でなりません。
知らない人のために補足すると、これ初出はテレビの２時間ドラマだったんです。
映画じゃないんです。起用した製作サイドに拍手。
そして肝心の幽霊。ただ居る。何もしない。何も見ていない（視線~~と言う意味で）。
ひたすらに無為。その無為がかえって恐怖をかき立て自らを壊して行く。
これですよ、これ。
黒沢監督の映画は大体が存在からして怖いわけですが、
幽霊というズバリな題材でこちらの期待に見事答えてくれた作品でした。~

地味に怖い。
まさに、和式恐怖描写の真骨頂です。霊がかなりの不気味度を誇っています。物語も1時間半のドラマとは思えないくらい濃く、面白いです。ただ、かなり暗い話ですが。
とにかく、「呪怨」やら「リング」の様な華やかさは有りませんが、原点かとも思わせるその幽霊の描写には脱帽です。
正直、怖い。

黒沢清はどうしてこうも恐怖をうまく描けるのだろうか？
幽霊はなるべく理由や怨恨が具体的でなくあくまで得体の知れないものとして描かれており、決して作中の人物に余計な共感や同情を持たせない演出はまさに日本では突出している。

また登場する幽霊たちが身にまとっている衣服の色はどれもこれも禍々しいほど不気味な原色である。見ていて本当にゾッとする。出てくるはずの場所にに出ず、出てくるはずの無い場所に出てくる幽霊は必ずあなたを恐怖に陥れるであろう。

霊媒師としてカメオ出演している哀川翔はなんかおもしろいというのも演出のクッションとして効いています。

黒沢清が化け物だと改めて思い知らされた傑作。
