やっぱ、この声ですよなー。ほれぼれするような声の伸び。懐かしさだけでなく、どこか“未来”を感じさせるその声質。そして、彼ならではのシャウト。「子門真人っぽく歌うのは誰でもできるが、誰も子門真人のようには歌えない」。そんな、唯一無二の存在。この彼の歌声に思い入れの深い人は、きっとオレだけじゃなくいっぱいいることだろう。97年、コロムビアの“青盤”と同時に発売された、CDとしては初の、彼の《テレビまんが》仕事をまとめたベスト２枚のうち１枚がこれだ。
「ファイヤーマン」や、『電人ザボーガー』の２曲を代表とする熱いナンバーももちろんいいのだが、「ひとり旅」「夕陽のレッドマン」などにみられる、どこかしみじみとした無国籍風の表情も、またいい。
「猿の軍団」で鳴っているギターの音色が、『仁義なき戦い』のそれと同じだったり（どちらも作編曲は同じ人）、「輝け！PAT」の“ズンズン・ズビズビ・ズビズバー”という謎のコーラス、「闘え！ドラゴン」のスリリングなサウンドメイク（倉田保昭の怪鳥音入り！）など、彼の歌声以外にもツボ多し。
なお「王者！侍ジャイアンツ」は、番組でもほとんど流れなかったというレアな子門バージョンで、モノラル、ワンハーフ。ボーナス・トラックの「いつになれば」と「絵の具箱」は“たいやきくん”の年（76年）、二郎さん主演でオンエアされた連続ドラマの主題歌シングルに収められた曲―子門は２曲とも作詞・作曲を手がけ、ドラマにも出演―で、一連のヒーローソングとは違った、彼本来の持ち味（たぶん）、みたいなものがよく出ている佳曲だと思う（余談だが、当時ラジオで流れたこの曲のCMでは「絶賛発売中！」ではなく、どういうわけか「売れてません・・・。」と言っていたのが、やけに印象に残っている）。

思えば、今４０歳前後の我々男性たちが子供だったころは、ある意味、天国だったのかもしれない。
テレビを点ければ、毎日のようにアニメやヒーロー物がやっていた。
学校にいくと、「昨日、見た？」と始まり、学校帰りの公園で「何々ごっこ」。
放映時間帯がブッキングしていて、何々マン派と何々ロボ派に別れてたりして。

振り返る？とバカだったなあ、でも、楽しかった。
ちょっと疲れてたり行き詰まった時、そんな童心を思い出させてくれるCDの一枚です。

元気な歌声がいっぱいの一枚。

思えば僕の子供時代は、子門真人とともにあったと言っても
過言ではないでしょう。

軽快な「アイアンキング」で始まり、ボーナストラックの
「たぬき先生騒動記」で終わるこの一枚。
４０男なら、必携です。
