ブラストビートだらけの彼らの１st。この頃は帝王ナパーム・デスがグラインドコア離れしていった頃で（いずれにせよエクストリーム・ミュージックの帝王の座は変わらないが）、うねりやダークネスに重きを置いたデスメタル的要素が強くなってきた。

そこでここにブルータル・トゥルースがデビューするのだがこちらはデスメタル的な要素があるものの、根本的にはグラインドコアを追求したハチャメチャな音楽をやっている。初期のナパームやＳ×Ｏ×Ｂがやっていた事をより次元の高い域で表現しているようにも思える。グラインドコアはやり尽くされた音楽ではない。彼らはそれを証明してくれた。

中心人物であるダン・リルカーはアンスラックス、Ｓ.Ｏ.Ｄ.、そしてニュークリア・アソートと、かつて大舞台で活躍してきた人物である。そのダンがここでもう一度アンダーグラウンドに目を向け本当に自分のやりたい音楽を追求する姿勢はもの凄い事だ。彼には最大のリスペクトを捧げたい。

AxCxやナパームデスみたいな始祖もいるが、
批判覚悟で言えば、こいつらを越えるグラインドコアはない。
なんと言っても音が強靭だ。
以前のグラインドコアがどこかジョークめいた雰囲気があったのに対し、
こいつらは心底グラインドコアを信じているふしがある。マリファナの影響あるだろう。
だから何もかもを平気で取り入れる。

古典的なグラインドコアでは作れなかった音が鳴っている。
