トータル・プロデュースを伊秩弘将が,トータル・アレンジを田辺恵二が担当。まさに今のポップス・シーンを支えている二人が,女性ヴォーカル,Junkoを器用し,20代の女性へ向けたポップスをプレゼント。けっして派手ではないが,良質な歌ばかりだ。

“SPEEDの”プロデューサー、伊秩弘将のプロジェクト、ガーデンズの1作目。もちろん、作詞・作曲からプロデュースまでを伊秩が手がけている。特に今までの自分の作品と全然違うことを試みよう、といった類の気負いはなかったらしく、伊秩得意のダンス・ミュージック系のビートの利いた、簡単に言えばSPEEDっぽい曲が大半を占める。またシングル5曲を収録していることもあり、アルバム全体のストーリー性よりも曲ごとのテーマ性のほうが立っているようで、女の子の日常や大好きな人への想いが、真っ正直に歌われている。となると、なんだかそれってSPEEDに歌わせてもよかったんじゃない? と言われそうだが、Junkoの歌いっぷりはその考えを否定する。決して技巧派ではない。それどころか、伝えたくて伝えたくて抑えきれない感情が随所であふれ出す。かっこ悪いくらい、必死。でもそれでいい。その純朴さこそが、胸に染みるのだと思うから。 (山田真弓) --- 1998年12月号
