現代では考えられないほど、母性に満ちた感動的な大作です。
なお、こちらのCDに収録されているのは、火サスで使われた楽曲ながら、より1作品として独立して聞けるように、ゴージャスなイントロにリアレンジされているので、火曜サスペンス劇場で使われていたバージョン、いわゆるTVバージョンをフルコーラスで聴きたい場合は、
『Eternal Ballads』（エターナル・バラッズ,VICL-61542)収録のものをおすすめします。

「火曜サスペンス劇場」の主題歌１作目と２作目のカップリング。「眠りなさい」の「聖母たちのララバイ」から「お帰りなさい」の「家路」へと、同じ路線であることは間違いない。が、それが単なる２匹目のドジョウに終わらなかったのは、「家路」の方がビート感が強く、またメロディーも平易で親しみやすかったためか。音域設定も若干低めで、楽に聴くことができる。何はともあれ、この２曲がまとめて聴けてカラオケ付き、という御得盤である。

はじめてこの歌を聴いたのは、サスペンスにて。思ったことはすごいなあ。ってこと。
良い歌なのに、なぜ、サスペンスって思ったものです。とともに、上手に歌ってくれていたことが幸いしてか、いまだに心に残っています。

太陽（弟）へ

実母の遺言　「生き延びること」「実父に出会ったら、名前をつけてもらうこと」
椿は、生まれてくる前から、名前を考えていた。太陽って。そして、私はみづき（月）だった。これは推測だけど、太陽宛に作品残してあったのでは？
