　SMAPの香取慎吾が主演したドラマ「透明人間」の主題歌だ。ラテンっぽい哀愁と和風の歌詞が、不思議な形で融合した曲。覚えやすい優れたメロディーながら、中身は相当実験的。

　桑田佳祐という人は、言葉を直感的なイメージで操ることに長けた人である。また時として邦楽の既成概念を壊す人である。この曲では「とぅわ」「そぅわ」など、日本語にない表現を敢えて使っている。

　♪生まれくセリフとは（とぅわ）、蒼き星の挿話（そぅわ）
　♪愛の調べとは（とぅわ）、愛のことだま
　♪釈迦（しゃっか）堂も　闇や　宵や宵や（いぇいやー）

といった感じ。某カラオケ番組で、この曲を歌わされたクラシック・テノール歌手が、「これはどうやって歌いましょうかねぇー(困)、って感じでした(笑)」とコメントしていたのが興味深かった。結局、割とオリジナル通り歌ってくれたのだった。

　ドラマ「透明人間」のラストは、怪物に姿を変えた父親と、主人公が対決する悲劇のストーリー。哀愁を帯びたミディアム・テンポの旋律が、物語に良く合っていた。見事！

すごくサザンらしい歌です。
ロックでもバラードでもなく、この感覚は桑田でないと作れない歌だ。
まず歌詞。桑田お得意のジャパネゲエなどに使われた和風・古風な歌詞。
歌詞を見ずに聞いていると、何を歌っているのか分からない。
この感覚が最高だ。

ありきたりな歌詞はすぐ飽きる。しかし、それを何ともクリアしているこの歌詞。最高に酔えます。

また、出だしから独特のサウンドでリスナーを魅了。

アルバム「ＹＯＵＮＧ　ＬＯＶＥ」にも収録されているから一度聞いてみて！

このCDは小学３年生の頃、CDプレイヤーと一緒に買った曲です。
確か、テレビドラマで聴いて｢良いな・・｣と思い購入しました。
友達からは｢サザンは荒唐無稽な歌詞の曲を歌うグループ｣と聞かされていましたが
荒唐無稽な歌詞が連発するのは結局この一曲だけでしたｗ
しかし、この曲だけは何千回と聴いていますが一向に飽きません。
今でも好きな一曲であり凄い曲だと思います。
