メタル界の財産、スーパーボイスの持ち主のマイケル・キスクを失ったHelloweenに元Pink Cream69のアンディ・デリスが加入と聞いた時は、「全然タイプ違うやん・・」とびっくりしましたが（Pink Creamも好きだったけど、音楽性がだいぶ違ったので）、イントロから続くSole Survivorを聴いた瞬間にぶっ飛びました。カメレオンでの迷走を見事に吹き飛ばす傑作アルバムです。ヴォーカルだけでなくドラム新加入のウリ・カッシュの歯切れ良いドラムも素晴らしいです。

曲自体も、長いことためてたからかもしれませんが、バラエティにとんでる上にキャッチーで本当に素晴らしい。
Take me homeとかは、これまでの彼らになかった感じの曲で隠れた名曲ではないかと。

ただ、ローランドの曲はあいかわらず他と比べれば若干しょうもないですが、まあ全体を一気に通して聞ける傑作です。

アンディ・デリス（Vo)とウリ・カッシュ（Ds)を迎え、新たなメンバーチェンジをして作られた新生HELLOWEENの最初のアルバムである。正直、２曲目のSOLE SURVIVORと３曲目のWHERE THE RAIN GROWSを聞くだけに買っても損はない！むしろこの２曲だけで大満足です。もちろんほかにTHE GAME IS ON,
SECRET ALIBI,STILL WE GOなど隠れた名曲がたくさんあります。たしかに物足りないかもしれないけど、アルバムの流れが非常に良いので自分としては聞いてて全然飽きません。HELLOWEEN初心者の人には守護神伝とこのMASTER OF
THE RINGSがおすすめです。

M.キスク脱退後、PINK CREAM 69のA.デリスをヴォーカルに迎えての1発目のアルバム。「ピンク・バブルス・ゴー・エイプ」「カメレオン」と、楽曲の質が今一つの作品が続いていただけに、名曲ひしめく本作はHELLOWEENの復活作という印象が強い。A.デリスはパワフルな歌声だけではなく、「WHY?」「IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEARTBEAT」などソングライターとしてもバンドに貢献。
