4.0 out of 5 stars 楽曲の充実度ではこの3rd, 2005/4/18
日本デビューアルバムの3rd。ブラガは、今のオペラチックな凝った作風よりもこのころのアグレッシブなパワーメタルのほうが好きです。
完成度という点では、4thか5thに軍配が上がりますが、楽曲の充実度ではこの3rdがNO.1ではないでしょうか。
特にどこでも出てくるカイハンセン参加の6やサビが絶品の9は、ジャーマンメタル界屈指の名曲。この2曲を聴くだけでもこのアルバムを買う価値有りです。
残念なのは、アレンジ面で荒さが目立つこと。あとトーメンのドラムが単調です。バスドラは踏みっぱなしなのでうるさいし、オカズもダサい。5thあたりから飛躍的に良くなるので、そのリズムがこのアルバムにあったら最高だったと思う。
最新作の「A NIGHT AT THE OPERA」でとりあえず、今の方向性を完成させたと言えるので、今後また原点回帰して欲しいです。

どこと無くHELLOWEENにも通じるメロディアスなパワー・メタルでマニアックな人気を誇っていたBLIND GUARDIAN。
'90年発表の本作は、彼らにとって日本でビュー・アルバムでもある3作目だ。
カイ・ハンセン(元GAMMA RAY)が前作に引き続き"Lost in the twilight hall"でリードVoをとっている。

サウンドは前作までと同様パワフルなスタイルのVoを中心に据えたパワー・メタルだが、

楽曲の質が格段に上がっている。
勢い重視のパワー・メタル・チューンがたっぷり詰まった本作は、多少粗削りな部分が目立つとはいえ
素直に頭が振れるという意味で素晴らしいアルバムである。

この上なくドラマティックな”The last candle"は絶品。

ジャーマンメタルらしいメロディアスさと、スラッシーな部分の混ざった3作目。
アンドレとマーカスの「歌うツインリード」が壮絶。また、ブラガの理想的なスタイルの"LOST IN THE TWILIGHT HALL"と"THE LAST CANDLE"の2大名曲も収録。音の安さと荒削りなアレンジが少し気になる所だが、これこそブラガ！という1枚。最高傑作と推す人も多い。
