アンサンブル中心でポップな印象に仕上がった1stから、凄テクギターをメインに据えたスピーディな楽曲でシーンのメインストリームを目指したグローリーの2nd。
曲は、好みもありますが、まずまず及第点以上の出来だしヤン･グランウィックのギターは今聴いてもスゴ巧！　曲調のバラつきを、バラエティに富むと考えるか、散漫ととるかで評価が分かれるんでしょうね。
まあ、ラストを飾るバッハのブーレは「学校で習った」ってアンタ……、って感じはありますが、そんな大ボケを差っぴいても余りある良いアルバムです。北欧メタルの知られざる名盤と言っても良いんじゃないでしょうか。
バンドの方向性が定まらず、この後が続かなかったのが惜しい……。

キーボードとコーラスワークを前面に押し出したデビュー作「Danger in this game」から路線変更し、若干ハードな方向に進んだ２作目です。

「Love never lasts」等には前作のメロディック路線が継承されているものの、全体的に曲のクオリティが下がってしまったように思えます。ポップでもなくハードでもない中途半端な曲調、といったところでしょうか。

特に、「Doctor of the blues」「Tease'n' please」等では、当時流行したブルースロックへ寄りのアプローチをしており、結果的に煮え切らない退屈な曲になってしまってます。

勿論、「2 forgive is 2 forget」「Miracles」「Love never lasts」等の良いメロディーの曲は有るものの、どうしてもデビュー作と比較してしまい、星を減らしました。
