2ndと3rdの過渡期にして、ギター兼コンポーザーJake絡みで揺れに揺れていた渦中の作品。

光と弦の（？）心象風景音楽、1st「NIWLUN」、直球ロック魂、2nd「Other Goose」、“緻密デジ”ロックの3rd「DAZZLE」に至るまで、変貌の軌跡があまりに鮮やかで、Guniwを語る上で持て余しがちになってしまう。実際、音も、ギター主体やらサンプリング主体インストやらアコースティックやらの混淆で、ヒジョーに扱いづらい。

だから、「階段の踊り場のようなもん」として等閑に伏されている気がしないでもない。

でも「イージー・スモール・ワールド」の閉塞した高速な“未来的乗り物”感って、実は他のどの曲にもない。「ノー・マン」の野粗な感じも、ここにしかない。

Guniwをざっと見通すなら、「SPARKY」は見過ごしてもいいや。でも「SPARKY」を聴かないでGuniwを語ったらダメだよ。
それだけ。
