4.0 out of 5 stars 音楽的に滅茶苦茶高度な技を駆使した3rdアルバム, 2002/1/8
~　このアルバムの発売と前後して時計のＴＶコマーシャルにバンドとして出演したスペクトラムは、「角付き兜の変なバンド」として一般にも知られるようになり、ほぼ唯一ともいえるヒットシングル「夜明け（アルバ）」を生み出しました。しかし「角付き兜の変なバンド」のＣＭ出演は、確かに彼らの知名度を上げることにはなりましたが、一方で他に比べるものの~~ない強力な個性が見事に誤解され、「色物バンド」と言うレッテルを貼られることにもなってしまいました。

　そんな状況の中で発表された3rdアルバムは、過剰なまでの音楽的な冒険に満ちた作品です。LPレコードのA面全部を使って約20分にも及ぶ非常に難易度の高い組曲を作り、圧倒的な実力を誇示するがごとくこのアルバムに収録したのは、「色物バンド」と言う誤解されたレッテルに対する彼らなりの抗議だったのでしょう。

　多分、スペクトラムの名前をＴＶコマーシャルに出演していた変なバンドとして知っている人の間では一番有名な曲「夜明け」を収録していますので、復刻した彼らのCDのなかでは一番売れていると思われます。

　人によっては、このアルバムを彼らの最高傑作に推す人もいますが、私はこのアルバムは既に下り坂に入りつつあったバンドの状況を示し始めているように聞こえ、1stや2ndと比べて魅力の面で勝っているとは思えません。演奏で駆使されているテクニック面では、過去最高の非常に高度な技を随所に散りばめて制作されているのは明らかですが、まとまりや勢いが最初~~の２枚と比べてもの足らないのです。~

　スペクトラムがすごいのは、この当時子供であった自分にも分かっていました。

　とんでもないホーンセッション。それに充分対応した、他のメンバーたち。正に｢速すぎた｣バンドだと今でも感じます。

　でも、このアルバムは別格です。ほぼ大半が、「戦士」をメインテーマにして、曲が流れます。タイトルを見て、その後、このＣＤをかけると、スペクトラムが、音楽だけで、世界を築こうとしたのが、ひしひしと感じます。

　このような一つのテーマで、さまざまな表現をしたアルバムを出せたこと自体が奇跡だと思います。(今から２０年以上昔の時代ですから！)
ここまでの世界観を出した、スペクトラムもすごいですが、それをレコードとして出した、当時の人々もすごいと思います

　まあ、個人的には「夜明け(アルバ)」「すべて懴悔だけ」の、２曲だけでも、買う価値がありますけど、スペクトラムのファースト・セカンドを聞いて、「このバンドはいいな｣と、感じたら、ぜひ！！聴いてみてください。

　最初に聴くにはお勧めしませんが、スペクトラムが好きになった人に｢どのアルバムが一番良い？｣と聞くと、このアルバムが一番すばらしいと言う人が多いです。

　なので、２枚目・３枚目にきくＣＤだと思います。でも、スペクトラムの奥深さが実感できるアルバムだと思います

田中光二のアッシュ・シリーズの世界にトリップしました
