石橋凌率いるＡＲＢが新たにバウワウからギタリスト斉藤光浩を加えて今まで以上にメロディアスでロックンロ-ルしている意欲作。「指を鳴らせ！」や「Ｗ」も日本のロック史に残る名作だと思うが、それを上回る傑作だと私は確信する。ワ-クソングと言われる労働者へ贈る曲が多いＡＲＢの中でも「ＨＯＬＩＤＡＹ」は名曲。２０年経っても色あせることのない日本のＲＯＣＫ魂を是非若い人達にも聴いて欲しい。

　結局、長くは続かなかったけれど、ギターに斉藤光浩を迎えた当時の布陣は、最強のロックンロールバンドだったと今も信じています。ほとんどシールド１本のストレートなギター、フレットレスも使い分けるメロディアスなベース、金看板のタイト＆パワフルなドラム、そして石橋凌の声、魂・・・！

　何度目かの再出発である本作は、気合い入りまくりです。自分たちでも制御できないかのような、熱い熱いアルバムです。売れるだの売れないだの関係ない！これがＡＲＢの魂だ！イヤなら聴くな、共感するヤツは拳を振り上げろ！

「魂こがして」の後、サンジがパクられ、田中一郎が去り、第三期メンバーとして、斎藤光浩と岡部滋が加わったA.R.B。それまでのA.R.Bに感じられた湿っぽさを排したソリッドな音。シャープな光浩のG,うねりまくる岡部のB、よりシンプルによりタイトになったキースのDr。石橋凌のメッセージも冴えまくり、尖がっている。疾走するようなエネルギーに溢れた7と10には、岡部の加入以前にストラングラーズのジャン・ジャック・バーネルが友情参加したテイク。7なんてほんま何百回と聴いたなぁ。

次作「砂丘１９４５年」では、ホーンも入ったり、より岡部色の強いダンサブルですらあるファンキーな懐の深さが加わった。この後のメンバーチェンジで入った白浜久のGは線細かったし、浅田孟も無機質な音質だし、石橋もメッセージも説教臭さが増えていくし・・・このメンツでたった2枚（プラスミニアルバム）しかレコードを残さなかったのは本当に残念。この時代のＡＲＢの全容を聴きたい方は「ＤａｙｓＯｆＡＲＢ　ＶＯｌ．２」を堪能してください。
