失われつつある美しい日本語の唱が、小鳩くるみさんの優しく、気品があり
澄んだ歌唱でよみがえり。まさに感動のCDです。
彼女が鷲津名津江さんとして学者になり歌手活動をやめたことが残念です。

小鳩くるみさんは童謡歌手としてのイメージが強かったので、この愛唱歌集と呼ぶべきCDは興味深く聴けました。十八番の童謡はもとより、唱歌、フォーク、歌謡曲と幅広く歌われていて、彼女の心象に触れたような思いです。宵待草の叙情豊かな表現力と無理のない高音の伸びは印象的です。浜辺の歌や夏の思い出は、すがすがしい歌唱で何度聴いても飽きません。浜千鳥は効果音入りで、しみじみとした味わい深い名唱になっています。琵琶湖周航の歌は好きな歌なので期待し過ぎたのかもしれまんが、歌いまわしが硬く感じられました。楽譜を見たこともないのですが、通常とは異なるところがあるのも気になりました。コンパクトに24曲、良い音質で残されていて後世に残るアルバムと感じられました。

「月見草の歌」「花かげ」「花嫁人形」は期待した通りすばらしく、それ以外でも「宵待草」「さくら貝の歌」「まりものうた」などがよかった。全体に透き通るような声で、オペラ歌手のような西洋音楽的歌い方でもなく、また現在の人気歌手の、変な節回しを付けた歌い方でもなく、日本の歌の原点に返ったような気がする。学者（武家）の家系を受け継いでいることもあってか、日本の伝統音楽の美しさと気品があり、現在の日本で失われてしまった、まさに“品格”を感じさせる貴重な音楽遺産である。ただ惜しむらくは全体にややテンポが速く、あっというまに終わってしまう点。もっと多くの童謡・抒情歌を採り入れた新たなレコーディングを期待したい。
