このＣＤに収録されている作品は、吹奏楽に編曲されコンクールで毎年どこかしらの団体が演奏する。悲しいかな、この名曲は指揮者の無能と演奏者の力不足により、意味不明な解釈が施された「原曲のよさブチ壊し」の演奏をされ、不遇の目にあっています。この曲をコンクールで演奏しようとする皆さん、特に「矢代の交響曲の終楽章」を演奏する、指揮するアナタ！このＣＤを「ちゃんと」聴いてくださいね。意味不明にリタルダンド加えることが如何に馬鹿げたことかが良くわかります。だれだ？ＮＡＸＯＳで充分とか言っているやつは！委嘱団体の日フィルの気迫はすごいぞ。

　ショスタコーヴィチとマーラーの影響が感じられるが、何も知らない人にそんな事を言ったら誤解されること間違いなし。この「交響曲」は決して彼らの二番煎じ的作品ではない。春愁、あるいは晩秋の夕暮れの寂しさが目に見えるような表現、凍りつくような冷たさを音化したような部分など聴き所満載の傑作。日本人でこれだけの作品を残した人がいたことに驚きを感じる。演奏も抜群。

5.0 out of 5 stars 魂のこもった世界に誇れる邦楽の名演！, 2005/3/15
ライヴとは知らずに購入・拝聴したが、日フィルがココまで表現豊かに熱演するとは驚いた。吹奏楽界でも有名なこの２曲は、是非とも全曲聞いておくべき演奏だろう。コンクール前等に当然参考演奏として色々聞くだろうが、ココまで「色」のある日本のオケの演奏は珍しく、勉強になるだろう。学生には難易度が高い曲かもしれないが、得るものが大きい筈である。他の日本のオーケストラも、今後この様な邦楽の名演を世界に発信して行って貰いたい。
