数あるベストアルバムの中でも、突出して「名盤」と呼べる傑作ベストアルバム。「夢色のスプーン」から「セシールの雨傘」までのＥＰレコードの両面をＣＤ化させたという曲構成とあって、ファン垂涎の贅沢盤だ。更に録音状態が良好であるため、他のベストアルバムと比較して、高音の伸びが良いというのも嬉しい限り。発売元のビクターに問い合わせたところ、「録音時に、エンファシスなどの音質改善措置は一切行っていない」という。「改良を加えていないピュアな音質」として安心して聴くことができるアルバムとして、評価が良いのは当たり前。歌詞カードに、ＥＰジャケットの写真が縮小されて用いられている点も演出効果大。飯島真理さんの古き良き時代を、存分に楽しめる一枚です。

このベストアルバムは‘８９年の発売直後から、「あれ、音がいいなぁ」とは思っていたのですが、同じ音源だし、気のせいだろうとずっと思っていました。ところが最近、ここで同じ内容が書かれてあるのを読んでびっくり。やはりいい音だったんですね。
また、このＣＤでは各シングル盤の表裏の縮小版が載せてあるのも丁寧だし、価格も発売当時としては抑えてあり、本当に珍しく「良質なベストアルバム」だと思います。
さらに、このアルバムでいいところは、デビューＣＤ「ＲＯＳＥ」以前の名曲「夢色のスプーン」と「リンゴの森の子猫たち」、「セシール･･･」のＢ面「フォトグラフ」を収録していること。特に「夢色のスプーン」は本当にいい曲だと思います。とかくアニメ色を前面に出した音楽は軽く見られがちですが、これは、松本隆／筒美京平の黄金コンビ！の知られざる名作でしょう。まだ、声に初々しさが残る真理さんの素直な歌い方にも好感が持てます。初放送当時はビデオ購入直後で、繰り返しこのアニメのオープニングを見ていたことも懐かしい思い出です。
欲を言えば、このシングル盤の見開き裏側にはまだ初々しい真理さんの写真が使われていたので、できればそちらの方の縮小版も載せてほしかったですね。
いずれにせよ、他の初期ベスト盤を持っていても絶対オススメです。このアルバム。

高音の伸びが非常によいです。20bit コーディングをうたっている
殿堂シリーズのサントラでも，ボーカルが埋もれてしまっていますが，
こちらの録音は最高です。
他のアルバムをもっている方も是非聴き比べて見てください。
