静と動が見事に対比されたアルバムだと思います。
速い曲での超絶技巧は勿論、スローな曲でのメロディの豊かさは感動します。
ゲストギタリストのジョージ・ベラスとの壮絶な速弾きバトルは聴きもの。
「Crying In The Shadows」はピアノ版ゲイリー・ムーアって感じの泣きのインスト。

ピアノソロ、メタル、バラードとVitalij Kuprijのよさがあますことなくつまった一枚です。バラード調な「Crying In The Shadows」の余韻を残しつつ、突如始まる“どメタル”な「Track On Fire」。バランスのいいアルバムだからこそ味わえる曲調の変化にぞくっとします。

ソロとしては約１年ぶりにリリースされた、天才(key)ヴィタリ・クープリの2ndである。
前作『HIGH DEFINITION』でもモーツァルトのピアノ・ソナタのカバーや、
パガニーニのヴァイオリン独奏曲のアレンジなどを披露していたが、
本作はよりクラシックを意識した内容の作品となっている。
なんせ、ショパンが２曲(#5,8)・ベートーヴェンが１曲(#10)と、ピアノソロの曲がアルバムにちりばめられ、
極めつけは11)エピローグ〜バッハの主題による即興曲、である。
この11)はヴィタリの持てるキーボード・テクニックが全開で、
あまりの凄まじさに言葉も失うほど！
この独奏はバッハというよりパガニーニに近いと筆者は思うが。
ヴィタリは本作において、メタル愛好家だけでなくクラシック愛好家も視野に入れたのではないかと思われる。
ちなみにメタル愛好家の目線で言えば、疾走チューン7)Track On Fireが特に素晴らしい！
今回(g)に抜擢されたジョージ・ベラスとヴィタリの早弾き合戦は、
恐らく世界最速・最強の組み合わせであろう。
個人的には前作のほうが好きなのだが、一般的な評価ではやはりこちらに軍配かな？
