スティーリーダン、クルセイダーズでも活躍したギタリスト、ラリーカールトンの７８年発表の名盤「夜の彷徨」に８０年代のアルバムを合わせた７枚のアルバムからセレクトしたベストアルバムです。サウンド的には、８０年代フュージョンの王道と呼ぶべきものに、カールトンのメロウなギターが加わり、非常に心地よいものになっています。また、ｓａｘのマイケルブレッカー、ｂのエイブラハムラボリエル、ｄｒのジェフポーカロ、ｋｅｙのマイケルマクドナルドといった豪華メンバーも加わり、随所に素晴らしいプレイを聞かせてくれます。ただ、カールトンも含め、テクニックをひけらかすのではなく、あくまで、サウンドに貢献するプレイに徹しています。
曲、サウンド、プレイの何れも素晴らしく、心地よいアルバムで、８０年代フュージョンの好きな方にはとりわけお奨めのアルバムです。

現在のラリーは原点回帰というかブルース色の強いアルバムを好んでリリースしてますが
これはＧＲＰ時代のベスト盤で比較的ポップな曲が大半を占めてます。
「夜の彷徨」的なサウンドをお好きな方はいいんじゃないでしょうか。どこか懐かしい感じ
ですが、個人的にはクルセイダーズの頃が一番好きでしたので４星です。
