小谷美紗子の声は素晴らしい。

初めて聴いた時、ある種のショックを受けた。もちろん良い意味で。

彼女の声は穏やかでかつ説得力がある。湿度を感じさせないがかといって乾いているわけではない。また、淡々とさらり歌っているようだがそこには情熱がしっかりと存在する。女性的すぎず男性的でもない、しかし中性的でもない。伸びやかで囚われるもののない自由を唄う声。

そして特筆に価するのが、歌詞の表現力。自作の歌詞　-これも注目すべき才能-　に血肉を与える。
歌詞の内容は、人生や心の機微、恋愛、世の中に対して鋭い洞察と感受性で書かれている。

それらはすべて「小谷美紗子」なのである。

ぜひ一聴して欲しい。

　おそらく持っているCDの中で、一番聴いているアルバム。
　全９曲３８分。短い、でも思いが凝集されている。

　１曲目『The Stone』は愛がだんだんと酸っぱくなり別れへと向かう心情を唄った歌。
　いきなりその表現力、比喩の破天荒ぶりに驚かせられることになる。

　続く『エリート通り』は、現代教育に波紋を投げかける問題作。
　アルバム発売時に、まさにこの曲のような大事件が起きたため、*1995年に作られたれたものです。と注釈まである。

　３曲目『あなたはやって来る』は一風変わったクリスマスソング。
　１つの愛でなく、もっと壮大に全世界に舞い降りてくる優しさを歌い上げる。
　私はこの季節がくると、Happy Christmas(War is over) と共に、この曲を必ず思い出す。

　アルバムタイトルの『 I 』『別れの支度』『しみるわ』は別れの歌。
　どの曲とも単純な詩なのに、流れるように唄う彼女の声がひたすら切ない。
　気持ちが痛いほど、心に染みこんでいく。

　『Gnu』は心打ち砕くキラーチューン。
　壁に行き当たった時、起こす行動が不安になった時、自分が正しいことができるようにと 無性に聴きたくなってくる。
　よくTVであるドキュメンタリー番組より ずんと胸に響く。

　締めくくりは『ハイ、まずわたしから』…ぜひ自然を愛する人全てがこの思いであって欲しいと願う。
　私は技術者としてこの精神だけは忘れてはいけないと心に誓っている。

　心の奥に響くメッセージが、これでもかとぎゅうぎゅうに詰まっている名盤。
　今、私が人に聴かれて１番に推すのがこのアルバムであるのは間違いない。

彼女の透き通る声と、ピアノの音。
単純で聞きやすいラブソング、ヒーリング音楽といった内容の
歌詞ではなく彼女の風刺の利いた歌詞内容です。
このアルバムを聞いたとき、穏やかなピアノの楽曲と
声であるだけにかなり衝撃を受け、ちょっと色々と考え込んでしまいました。
トラック3は真の平和と平等を願う最高のクリスマスソングだと思います。
