　私は最初このアルバムはあまりすきではありませんでした。レコード会社のいやらしい方針が見え隠れする作風に馴染めなかったのです。
　でも最近はどういうわけか、このウエストコースト風アコースティックサウンドがとても心地よくなってきました。やっぱり楽曲が良いからなのでしょうね。キャッチーでピュアな楽曲群の魅力は、目先の利益に飛びつくセンスのないレコード会社のいやらしさをも吹き飛ばしてしまうのでしょう。
　このアルバムは、７０年代のウエストコーストロック、特にイーグルスなんかに夢中だった人にアピールするのではないでしょうか。アコースティックギターやペダルスティールのサウンドがとても心地よいです。
　ネルソンが本当にやりたかったスタイルだったかどうかはわかりませんがなかなか良いアルバムだと今は思っているところです。さすが天才メロディメイカーといったところでしょうか。

まずは　え？！と驚く。デビューアルバムとかなり音が違うからだ。前作があれだけヒットして誰もが次の作品を期待したのに、すでにレコーディングしてあったイマジネイター（リリースは今作の次）にレコード会社がケチをつけた為、二人が泣く泣く作ったアルバム。7以外は全部アコースティック！極端すぎやしませんか？イマジネイターをハードすぎると言われたんで、思いっきりソフトにしてやったぜ！テナ感じ・・
前作から5年振りがこれ・・ということであまり話題にもならず本当に気の毒でした。楽曲はどれも美メロで素晴らしいんだ・・だからファースト路線で2，3枚だしてからだったらまた違ったかも。当時10代だった私では楽しめませんでした。しかし年を重ねた今は（笑）かなり聞き込める作品です。捨て曲はないですよ！ただいきなりファースト風の７は全篇アコースティックの中では、かなり奇妙。なんで収録したのかと思う位だが本来のネルソンらしいスゴクいい曲。いろんな意味で彼等の日本での知名度に影響した作品となってしまって、なんか複雑・・アンプラグドのブームにも引っかからなかったし・・彼等にとっては不本意な評価だろうなぁ。

メロディアスなロック（Bon Jovi, Danger Danger, Firehouse, Night Ranger, Trixter, Warrant等）が好きな方にオススメします。
「7.永遠(とわ)の想い」は、ハードポップ史に残る名曲といえます。
