”地球声楽曲”この歌い文句に恥じない出来映え。
そもそもは、カール・ジェンキンス氏が温めていた「長大な合唱曲を作ってみたい」という構想を、デルタ航空からのＣＭ曲（１曲目の”聖なる海の歌声~原題はＡｄｉｅｍｕｓ”）の依頼を機に実行に移したのが始まり。

クラシックをベースにケルトとエスニックを組み合わせた独特のサウンドが目を引き、ファーストアルバムにしてすでにコレという己のスタイルを確立している点が凄い。
トライバル（部族的）なサウンドを目指したと言うだけあってコーラスはアフリカのマオリ族などのエスニックミュージックを思わせる大地や空の広がり大きさを彷彿とさせる伸びやかなもの。

ヴィブラート無しでフォルテッシモを歌うのにこだわったのも部族的なサウンメ?を目指したが故だ。

上記のクラシックにエスニックをミックスしたのも新しい試みではあったが、それと同じくらいビックリしたのは”声”を楽器に見立てて架空の言語で歌った点。

「言葉の持つ意味に気をそらされることをなくす事でメリスマ（ヴォーカル・フレーズの抑揚）を最高のものにする」という純粋に”音”のみでメッセージを伝えようとする姿勢に鮮烈な印象が残った。

言葉が無くとも、思いや祈りを伝える事は可能だという良い見本。

教会音楽やケルティックサウンド、エスニックミュージック好きまで人種を問わず幅広い人に受け入れられる”地球声楽曲”だ。

95年の作品なのに全く古さは感じない（民族音楽自体が10年、20年という時間では変質しないものだから当たり前だが）。レコード屋で「ヒーリング」のカテゴリーに入れられているのをよく見るが、癒し（この言葉、もう古いだろうか？）だけを求めて聴かないで！といいたい。ミリアム・ストーキーの豊かな低音、クラシックの曲形式、エスニックなシャント。みごとに融合し、世界中の誰が聴いても入り込める、エスペラントな音楽に仕上がっている。

　発売された当初に店頭でこのＣＤに出会って、一目で（一聞きで？）好きになりました。
　まるで自然そのものが歌っているかのような不思議で綺麗で、なおかつ力強いサウンド。よくＣＤショップでは癒しのコーナーに置いてありますが、どちらかというとこの曲を聴いていると元気が湧いてきます。
　エスニック風の、独特の架空言語が特徴。聴いて損なし、買って損なしです！
