まず,深いうねりを持つベルトルッチ映像をよく理解した坂本龍一の音楽が見事。また,ホルガー・シューカイの「ペルシアン・ラヴ」のように時折かぶさってくるコーランの朗唱にも,不思議な魔力がある。映画は未見だが,これじゃ期待するなと言う方が無理?

4.0 out of 5 stars 坂本龍一の映画音楽の中では秀作, 2007/2/12
ベルナルド・ベルトルッチ監督は、
音楽の注文にうるさいということで有名。
その影響かもしれないがベルトリッチと組んだ映画音楽はどれも、
坂本龍一の映画音楽の中では非常に壮大な旋律に溢れている。
ザ・シェルタリング・スカイの舞台はモロッコだが、
その乾いた空気感と、破綻をきたす男女関係の憂鬱を
とても上手く表現している。
このアルバムには、リチャード・ホロビッツも参加しているが
民族音楽をモチーフにした、ホロビッツの楽曲も聴きごたえがある。
サントラとしてではなく、アルバムとしての完成度も高い。
