紛れなく名曲。
彼の楽曲の中でも、個人的にはベスト5に必ず入る曲だ。
繰り返し歌われる「この線路を降りたら~」のフレーズが印象に強く残る。
不安や迷いが段々と昇華されていくような様は、とても強く美しい。
タイトル通り、光が見えてくるような一曲。

録音も良く、音が非常に綺麗に聞こえるのが嬉しい。

これがシングルでしか聴くことができないのは、とても残念だと思う。
この時期のシングルは良い曲が目白押しなので、集めて再発しないかな、なんて願っているんだけど・・・無理なのかな。

わたしの好きな小沢健二の曲は数多くあるけれども、
その中で、この曲は一番だ。
「ある光」は、フルレングスが8分を越える
（ポップソングとしては）大作だけれど、
これ以上長くても短くても、こんな風に、
心に残る曲にはならなかったと思う。

小沢さんは、ことばをとても丁寧に選んで歌詞を作っていて、
小沢さんのうたを聴いていると、
日本語はとても美しいことばなんだと、実感します。

　アルバム未収録のシングルを集めたベスト作｢刹那｣で最も惜しまれたのは、この曲がリストから外されてしまったことだ。彼はこれまでにも数々の名曲を生み出してきたけれど、これは間違いなく最上の部類に入る、正に｢名曲中の名曲｣だと思う。試行錯誤を繰り返した(勿論出来は素晴らしいものばかりだったけど)｢Buddy｣や｢ダイスを転がせ｣を経てリリースされたこの曲は一聴、｢LIFE｣を思わせるような軽快さに包まれてはいるけれど、どうにも拭いきれない先の見えない不安感とうっすらとした希望を見据えた彼の心境がうかがえて、何度も聴くたびにジーンとなってしまう。それはあの感動的な名曲｢天使たちのシーン｣への数年越しの結論のようにも思えてくる。彼を語る上では絶対にはずせない感動的な名曲である。その後に出たラストシングル｢春にして君を想う｣にも、わざわざシークレット･トラック扱いにしてまで収録されていたことからも分かるように、彼にとっても重要な楽曲であったことは間違いないだろう。そして、渋谷毅の美しいピアノと小沢君の繊細極まりないヴォーカルが光る、｢さよならなんて云えないよ｣のジャズ･ヴァージョンである3の素晴らしさも特筆しておきたいと思う。いつか再発されることを心から願って。
