本名:中川 清(なかがわ きよし)

生年月日:大正14年11月6日

出身地:兵庫県姫路市

最終学歴:大東文化学院中退(兵役に就き復学せず)

芸歴昭和22年、四代目 桂米団治に入門。
昭和38年、芸術祭文部大臣奨励賞受賞、以後、昭和48年大阪府民劇場賞、昭和44、45年芸術祭優秀賞、昭和55年芸術選奨文部大臣賞など受賞多数。
昭和62年、紫綬褒章受賞。

平成8年、重要無形文化財保持者(人間国宝)認定。
平成14年11月、文化功労者認定

すばらしい。ずいぶん以前にテープで聞いていたけれど、改めて聞くとその力量と、パワーに圧倒されます。上方でも、これを演じれる噺家はもう出てこないかもしれません。米朝ご本人も、現在の年齢ではもう演じることも難しいのではないでしょうか。いろんな意味でこの一枚は、永久保存版です。

地獄に行きたい。
天国より地獄のほうがおもしろそうだ。
と、思わせてくれます。
地獄が、まるで、遊園地のように思えてきます。

１時間の長丁場ですが、しらないうちに終わってしまいます。
地獄を知りたい人にはお勧めです。

「ちりとてちん」で初めて「地獄八景亡者戯」を知り、これは絶対米朝さんの語りで聞きたい！と思い即購入しました。期待通り、言い回しや、時事ネタなんかも出てきて面白い。落語ネタとしては長い方だと思いますが、聞き入ってしまってあっという間でした。
もっと早く落語に興味を持っていたら、生で米朝師匠の語りが聞けたのにと残念に思います。
おススメ。これは絶対きいてほしいです！
