’９９年のＴＶドラマ『ザ・ドクター』のサントラ。長島一茂が外科医というユニークなキャスティングと話題を呼んだが、それが案外はまり役だったことも印象深い。常にアマチュアボクシングの試合で負けたことを根に持ち、内科医で主人公の麻生とぶつかる。麻生役は、『恋ノチカラ』の貫井役を務めた堤氏。長島ＶＳ堤の衝突は毎度のこと。このＣＤを購入した目的は、もちろん曲を聴くためだが、それ以上にＢＩＩＲの『翼』（シングルは廃盤）が収録されていたからだ。医療ドラマと激しいロックの組み合わせが、何とも言えないコントラストを描写していることに好感を抱いた。因みに、このＣＤはＨＤＣＤレコーディングされている。ＲＥＣレベルが高いのも実はそのためだ。当然、通常のＣＤプレーヤーでも再生可能だが、せっかくの名曲なので、ここは是非ともＨＤＣＤデコーダー搭載ＣＤプレーヤーで楽しみたい。廃盤の『翼』シングルも同様にＨＤＣＤレコーディングされている。今聴いても古臭さを感じさせない『翼』だけでも、聴いておいて損はない。
