吟遊詩人とでもいうべき村上のソングライティングセンスと日本のジョニー・マー、島津の音色・音触へのこだわりが拮抗した緊張感あふれる名盤。惜しむらくも、このユニットの最後のアルバムとなった。高橋幸宏プロデュースの時代の瑞々しさに加え、伊藤銀次との共同作業を経て成長した彼らの最盛期といってよい作品。先行シングルに収録されていたCrowded Houseのカバー(Don't dream it's over）もこちらに収録していればセールスにも貢献したのかもしれない。M4.のCARDINAL はEric MatthewsとRichard Daviesの結成していたこれまた短命ながらセンスのよいユニット名と同じで感慨深いものがある。９０年代のJ-Popを語るときに決して忘れてはならないユニットである。
