　最近、村松友視氏の水原弘の評伝「黒い花びら」を読んだ。それを機に水原弘の歌を聞いてみようとこのCDを購入した。

　昭和５３年、水原弘は４２歳の若さで他界した。
その頃幼稚園に通っていた私が彼を知ったのは、中学生の頃に聴いていたラジオから流れてきた「黒い花びら」だった。
「なんて甘く切ない歌だろう。」そして既にこの世の人ではなかった事に「幻のスター歌手」の匂いを感じ、その事で自分の心の中で更に「黒い花びら」が際立って響いたのを憶えている。

　CDを聞いた感想は、、、「黒い花びら」「君こそわが命」以外にビッグヒットに恵まれず、様々な路線での試行錯誤が伺えるが、素晴らしい事に全ての曲を見事に歌いこなしている。リアルタイムでは商業的には冴えなかったのかもしれないが、今聞いてみると水原弘という歌手は高いクオリティーでジャンルを選ばず自分の歌を表現できるオールマイティーな希少な歌手という見方ができないだろうか。
特に波乱万丈の人生を送っただけあって「マイ・ウェイ」は絶品！

ホントに４２歳で亡くなってるのは残念。もっと生きていればもっと可能性があった様に思う。

ロカビリー・シンガーとしてステージ・デビュー、中村八大の「黒い花びら」で大ブレイクしたのはご承知の通り。改めて聴いてみると、「黒い落葉」「恋のカクテル」などの黒っぽいヴォーカルなど、和製Ｒ＆Ｂシンガーの草分けとして、村松友示見による評伝とは切り離してみても、十分に心に来ます。レコードでは、ロカビリーより「カチート」とかのラテンの方を積極的に取り上げていますが、その流れで作られたであろう「黄昏のビギン」も、またはまっていますね。また浜口庫之介作曲の一人ＧＳ「愛の渚」やＮＨＫあなたのメロディーから生まれたソフトロック・サウンド「お嫁に行くんだね」では、トム・ジョーンズ・マナーのヴォーカルが聴けて、これまたすばらしい！　和製トム・ジョーンズは、松崎しげるではなかったのだ！　ムード歌謡という狭い枠に押し込めて置くにはもったいない歌であります。

　昭和５３年に４２歳という若さで他界してしまった水原弘。
当時５歳だった私はそんな事を知らず、彼を知ったのは中学生の時に聞いていたラジオから流れてきた「黒い花びら」だった。
「なんて、切なく甘く良い歌なんだろう。」
当時水原弘のCDを見つける事が出来ず、そのまま歳月が過ぎた。

最近、村松友視氏の評伝を書店で見かけ、読んだのをきっかけに再び水原弘が聞きたくなった。でこのCDを購入した。
感想は「上手い！」の一言。

「黒い花びら」以降ヒット曲に恵まれなかった状況を打破する為であろうか、様々な路線の曲を歌っていて暗中模索したと見受けられるが、逆に現代になって聞いてみると、その様々なジャンルの歌を全て見事に歌いこなしている事や、歌の中に見える歌手としての色々な性格が感じられて非常にバラエティーに富んだオールマイティーな歌手である事に驚かされる。

波瀾万丈な人生を送っただけに優しく甘く、そして大きいスケールで歌う「マイ・ウェイ」は絶品。
もっと生きていればもっと可能性があった様に思う。できればリアルタイムで聞いてみたかった。
ホントに４２歳で亡くなっているのが残念だ。
