   デビューから3枚のアルバムをリリースしたユーミンが、1976年6月に発表した初のベスト・セレクション。同年、松任谷正隆氏と、めでたくゴール・インということもあり、ひとまずコレで一区切りといったところか？ ちなみに荒井由実名義の作品は同年11月リリースの『14番目の月』が最後ということになっている。大ヒット・シングル<1>や、独身ファイナルとなったシングル<10>など、初期の名作がアソートされており、ニュー・ミュージックの黎明をみる1枚となっている。（春野丸緒）

エキスプレス時代というか荒井由実だったころのユーミンのベスト・セレクションを3枚のCDにまとめたもの。パート1はかつてからあったオリジナルの『ユーミン・ブランド』とまったく同一の内容でパート2,3はそれ以外のアルバムからのものとなる。ユーミンの第1期黄金時代ともいえるフレッシュな感性と独持のユーミン・サウンドが美しくマッチした名曲ぞろいで、上品でさわやかなメロディは今聞いても大変に新鮮な印象を受ける。懐かしき青春時代とともにいつまでもとっておきたいCD。CD化によってヴォーカルのリアリティがグッとアップしているのが魅力だ。

これはユーミンが公認しているベスト盤です。
(2や3は非公認ですが)
シングル曲中心なのでアルバム曲は選ばれていません。
一番初めのもっともシンプルなベストです。
3-Dジャケットが小さいのが残念ですが名曲揃いですよ!

松任谷由実のアルバムを初めて聴いたのがYuming Brandでした。その頃は、主にロックやR&Bを聴いていて「俺たちは腐ったミカンだからな。ニューミュージックなんてチャラくて聴いてられないぜ！」と友達には言っていたのですが、密かに愛聴したものです。。。

「あの日にかえりたい」や「ルージュの伝言」などは歌詞がいかにも小洒落た感じで、中学生だった僕にも、そこはかとないワクワク感を感じさせてくれたものです。「翳りゆく部屋」は歌詞･曲ともスケール感があって、今聞いても古さを感じないですし。

松任谷由実って、王道を行きながらチャレンジをし続けているような印象があって、聴く人の音楽的なバラエティーの広がりにすごく影響を与えてくれたのではないでしょうか。もちろん、松任谷正隆との二人三脚があってのことなんでしょうが。

ユーミン本人は結構不満たらたらのレコード会社が企画したベスト盤！
それでも、荒井由美の代表曲、「あの日にかえりたい」等、名曲の数々
に大満足です！
「翳りゆく部屋」は壮大かつ繊細で、まさにユーミンにしか作り得ない
ユーミンワールド！ 必聴！
ユーミンがこのアルバムを嫌っているので、マイナス１点！
