年末、部屋を大掃除してて懐かしいテープに出会った。そして’85年の発売当時のオレの幼い字の”DA・DI・DA"をかけながら片付けを続けた。リリース時は好きになれなくて、殆ど聴かずにいた曲たちが、今、歌詞・メロディー共に胸に痛いほどしみてきて、気がつくと掃除機を置いたまま歌詞カードを読んでいる自分がいた。あの頃は二十歳そこそこの男が、23年の年月を経て、恋愛の酸いも甘いも味わった中年になって、やっとこのアルバムの深さが分かった気がする。改めてユーミンの天才ぶりに驚くと同時に、この人と同じ時代に生きていられて、その作品をリアルタイムで享受出来る幸せをしみじみ感じる。ユーミンは作家だ。その時代と並走しつつも、様々な時代を飛び越える普遍的な作風で僕らを楽しませてくれる。個人的には五段階評価の星10個をつけたい。大絶賛！！

オープニングからロック調の曲を持ってきて力強い
イメージを思わせるかのように見えて
やはり、ツボはしっかり押さえてるところがユーミンの
醍醐味だろう、ラブソングがたまりません。
「シンデレラ・エクスプレス」はJRのCM曲にも
使われて知っている人も多いだろうし
「青春のリグレット」はロマンチックな男性でもイチコロ(死語）
です。かなり泣けます。
その他「SUGAR TOWNはさよならの町」や「メトロポリスの片隅で」
など名曲がずらりと揃って何回聴いても飽きません。
もう後は何も言う事無いですね。とにかく聴いて下さい。必ず。

このアルバムのテーマは、都会で生活する、強く生きようとしている女性。そんな感じですが、これほどほぼ全曲がそのテーマで統一されているというアルバムは、なかなかないものだと思います。
終わった恋を前向きに乗り切ろうとする曲たち。

「もう愛は始まらない」と「たとえあなたが去って行っても」と、この２曲をくりかえし聴いてるだけでも（たとえば失恋直後なんかに）、勇気が湧いてきます！
「わたしを許さないで　憎んでも覚えてて」のフレーズで有名な８曲目の「青春のリグレット」は切ないですが、名曲中の名曲。

ちなみに「もう愛は始まらない」の後半部から入る「DA・DI・DA」のコーラスはインパクト大！かなーりかっこいいです！とにかく元気になりたい女性（男性も）必聴！！
