一般的にはにはマキは1960年代末~70年代初頭の人、というイメージが
強いのではないかと思うが、個人的には1980年代の諸作品がマキのピークと
思っている。（本CDではDisc-2が相当する）

1980年代に流行った多くのクソッタレなヒット曲たち。
それと同時期にこれほどの作品群を残したマキの存在は
この國においてどれほど凄い事であるか！

日本にはマイルスもコルトレーンもヘンドリックスも出現し得なかった。
しかし日本には浅川マキが居るのだ。

「浅川マキの言うことだったら聞く」という友人がいた。レコードも買った。新宿のどこだったかコンサートにも行った。CDを手に入れ、ほとんど30年ぶりに聞く。確かにあのときの浅川マキもいた。しかし、それ以上に豊かに変容した浅川マキに驚き、感動。

浅川マキの諸作品に触れるならCDでは事足らず、レコードを買うしか無かったんです。
しかし今はこんなベスト盤がある。で、ダークネス1~3ならこの3が最も良いと思う。
とてもいいです。浅川マキは最高やね。
ここに収められている「引越し」はたまらない。
こんな歌詞です。

「今日この部屋に西日があたりました。近いうちにこの部屋出てゆく」

というセリフは僕のハートを鷲掴みにしたんです。
ボクはこれ聴いた時、ああ・・・部屋に西日差したから、もう出て行くんやね・・・って思った。そんな理由で引越すってあるね・・・って思った。
現実にはー 引越しには金かかるし自分はそんな理由じゃあ引越ししないんですけど、なんか胸が切なくなったんです。
浅川マキは最高やね。

英語ならトムウェイツ、日本語なら浅川マキ。
