当CDはマキの長いキャリア中のうち、1980年代半ばの作品を集めてある。
Disc-1の本多俊之とのデュオはスタジオ録音ならではの技巧を駆使した、
ジャンル分けの難しい独自の世界が構築されている。

対しDisc-2は、ボビー・ワトソン（元ルーファス）らをバックに配した、
いわゆるファンク系統の路線が主であるが、これまたマキの歌が乗る事で、
｢浅川マキの世界｣としか表現しようの無い空間が形成されている。

この時期のマキは、眼の病を患い、治療薬の副作用でロクに声も出ない状態
なのであるが、それでも尚その声・その歌は圧倒的な表現力を持っている・

一つ例を挙げると、Disc-2に収録の｢ちょうどいい時間｣はワンコードの
ファンクであるが、一聴しただけではそうと気付かせない程の歌の構成力
がある。（単にボーカリストとしても並大抵ではない力量の持ち主である）

アンダーグラウンド、遥か遠く地下より響く声、まさに浅川マキ。

浅川マキはとっても素敵だと思います。ブリジット・フォンテーヌのラジオのようにレベルに・・・僕は２０代ですが浅川マキが大好きです。浅川マキファンの中では若いかもしれませんが世代を超えて伝わってくる感じがしました。本当におしゃれな音楽って言うのはマキさんのような音楽を言うのかもしれません。こんなにカッコよく年齢を重ねる浅川マキはカリスマだと思います。本物の音楽です。新譜もそろそろ聞きたいです。
