日本では数少ない『孤独と希望』を歌えるすばらしいシンガー。そのスタイリッシュなサウンドは群を抜いている。ワールドワイドでも活躍できる人材。トータルサウンドをきちんとコントロールして『何を表現したいのか』をつきつめており、その個性的なボーカルとサウンドはいつ聴いても気持ちよい。わかりやすく言うと＝美学をもっていないシンガーは消えるということ。美学＝スタイル＝なのだが、なかなかにこれを確立するのは困難である。歌うべきことをがっちりつかみ、スタイリッシュなサウンドで構成する力に優れている。またこの人はプロデューサー的な資質もすばらしく音楽全体を見渡せる人物。

この人にコアなファンがつくのは当然である。理性、感性、インスピレーションのバランスが極めて高い??

スカパラと共演した1で幕を開ける高橋幸宏のベストは88年の『EGO』から95年まで、厳選された16曲。改めて思うのは決して過ぎない人なんだってこと。細いけれどスタイリッシュな歌は、涼しさとか温かさとか微妙な心地良さの中にある。もうひとつは詞。ご本人も書いてはいるがほとんどは森雪之丞、鈴木慶一のふたりによるもの。心の深淵を一瞬にしてついてくる彼らの詞をすっと受け止められるのもこの歌だからこそ。
