大ヒット曲となったシングル「Kiss me」を収める実り多いアルバム。大人のロックを大言したキャリア上でも転機となった傑作。

~やはりいまの耳で聴くと、所詮は歌謡ロック、J-POPといった感じはする。

しかしながら、曲構成、ジャケットの装丁も含めてこれほどまでに美しいアルバムは、当時の日本には存在しなかった。当然ヒムロックの歴史を語るうえでも最重要作品であるし、もっとも氷室とシーンの流れがシンクロした時代の作品であった。

これ以前は常にBOOWYとの差異化・差別化をテーマとしていた彼であったが、あえて全てを呑み込んで、『KISS ME』のサビ部分にBOOWYの大ヒット曲『MARIONETTE』のコード・リフを当てはめてしまったという大胆さは特筆に値するだろう。

惜しむらくは8トラック目に収録の『Urban~Dance』がシングルバージョンではなく、先に発売されたリミックスアルバムのものであったことだろう。この後アルバム『SHAKE THE FAKE』を経て出た『SINGLES』にもライヴ演奏にもリミックスバージョンが起用され、オリジナルのシングルバージョンが晴れてアルバムに収録されるのは、実に10年後の『Case of HIMURO』まで待つことになる。

2トラック目『YOU'RE THE~~ RIGHT』は名曲『LOVER'S DAY』を彷彿とさせる、胸に沁みるミッドテンポナンバー。シングルにおいてアップテンポとミッドテンポをカップリングさせるという氷室の黄金法則もこの時期、この曲によって確立された。~

アルバムの曲を通して聴いていると、その曲順が織りなす流れの美麗さと秀逸さにノックダウンされる。大ヒット曲「ＫＩＳＳ　ＭＥ」はもちろんのこと、収録されている１０曲全てに駄曲・捨て曲はない。ビート系最高峰という称号がふさわしい氷室京介の世界が堪能できる。
