ここでは完全版を紹介する形になっているけど、これは2000年になって再発されたアルバム。曲数も本作より7曲も多い16曲になっている。

私が紹介したいのは1984発売のアルバム。絶頂期のTALKING HEADSをとらえたサントラ（ライブアルバム）なのです。映像もDVDで出ているので見ていただきたいですが、それよりまずこのアルバムを聴くべし。David Byeneの奇才ぶりが十分に発揮されています。最初から最後まで息をつかせないほど凄みがあります。

80年代半ば、彼らはとってもおしゃれな都会派でした。当時のディスコ（私は高校生）ではヘビーローテされたよ。
過去の遺産にしてしまうのがもったいない一品。

映画も素晴らしいですが、CDも相当のものです。都会のセンスとアフリカンリズムのコラボレーションがトーキングヘッズの源泉ですが、このCDはコンサート会場でリズムにドンドン乗せられ、「どこまでoverdriveするのか」という心地いいノリとセンスあふれる都会趣味が見事な塩梅でバランスしている。

アコースティックギター一本で導入する「サイコキラー」、聴かせる「ヘブン」、そこから一気にリズムの爆発が始まり、6曲目の「バーニングダウンザハウス」あたりでは上半身リズムを取りまくり、「バーニングダウンザハウス！！」とサビは思わず叫んでしまうこと請け合い。

アフリカンリズムたっぷりの「ジニアス・オブ・ラブ」は最高の一曲の一つで最高潮に達し、「テイクミー・トゥ・ザリバー」あたりでクールダウン。クロスデイアンドペインレスを聞き終わるころにはリズム漬けになって幸せな気持ちになっている。　そして　また聞きなおすのだ。

奇才デヴィッドバーン率いるトーキングヘッズの全盛期のライブを捕らえた８４年制作の映画のＣＤを2000年に再発したものですが、再発時には、リマスターされると共に、収録曲数も７曲増え、ライブのほぼ全貌をよりクリアな音で収録することに成功しています。
トーキングヘッズといえば、都会的なセンスと、アフリカのフレイバーを感じさせる無国籍なリズムでもって独特のサウンドを作り出したグループですが、そこにライブならではのグルーブ感も手伝って、抜群に格好いいアルバムになっています。制作されてから２０年を経ても、尚、古さを感じさせないリズム感溢れるトーキングヘッズ独特のサウンドを楽しめる格好いいアルバムです。
