最近ベンチャーズを聞くようになったんですが、信じられないほど、好きになりました。今まで約40年間聞いていた。ロック及びポップスはなんだったんでしょう。日本人には、何時の間にかベンチャーズサウンドが、ビッシリ体に入り込んでいるんですね、何も考えずにノッテしまっているんです。驚きです。

子供の頃、お年玉をためて、始めてレコードを買った日のことをよく覚えています。
着飾って、デパートのレコード売場に行って買いました。

ビートルズの「抱きしめたい（アイ・ウォント・ホールド・ユア・ハンド）」のドーナツ盤（ＥＰ盤）を買いにいって、売場で手に取ったのですが、結局かなり悩んだ末、ベンチャーズの「ダイアモンド・ヘッド」「10番街の殺人」「パイプライン」「急がば廻れ」の４曲が収録されていたＥＰ盤サイズのお得盤？を買いました。
当時は「エレキブーム」で日本中「テケテケテケテケ」というサウンドが大流行の時代でした。
ベンチャーズは、その代表的なグループで一番人気があり、エレキバンドは皆、ベンチャーズの音楽をコピーしていました。とても分かりやすい特徴のあるサウンドでした。

日本も、東京オリンピックの頃で大変活気づいていました。新幹線が開通した頃で、新しい時代の到来を国民みんなが感じていた頃です。
何十年ぶりに聴きなおしました。「テケテケテケテケ」の音楽は、その頃の世相とオーバーラップします。
そしてあの頃の思い出も一緒に蘇ってきます。懐かしいですね。
