「ナック」という名前や、「マイ・シャローナ」という曲名は知らなくても、あのベースとギターによるシンプルなオクターブのリフを聴けば、多くの人が「ああ！これね！」と言うことと思います。「マイ・シャローナ」以外の曲もキャッチーな出来で一度聴いたら耳に残るようなものばかりです。基本的に二本のギターにベースとドラムという編成で、ノリの良いロックンロールナンバーと甘いバラードで構成されたアルバムです。６０年代から７０年代初めのブリティッシュポップロックのエッセンスがほど良く加味されたスタイルはとてもかっこよいです。

　それにしても何時聴いても楽しい気分にしてくれる素晴らしいアルバムです。このようなポップな楽曲群を生み出す彼らの作曲やアレンジの才能には驚かされます。また「マイ・シャローナ」のようなシンプルな曲をあそこまでかっこよく聴かせるハイレヴェルな演奏力とダグ・フィージャーのセクシーなヴォーカルも聴きものです。

　まさに一家に一枚の名盤！。ポップロックファンで聴いたことがないなんていう人はいないとは思いますが、「まだ聴いたことがない」という方は是非お試しを！。参考までですがチープトリックが好きな人とか、パワーポップ系が好きな人はけっこうはまるのではないかと思います。

一発屋といえばＫＮＡＣＫ・・・
あまりにもＭＹ　ＳＨＡＲＯＡＮＡのイメージが強すぎて
他の曲がかすんでしまう・・・そんな不幸な風評を頂いている
作品です。
しかし、はっきり言ってこれはイイですよ！
とてもよくできたポップロックアルバムです。

どの曲も捨て曲でない、個性的な逸品揃いです。

筆者のお勧めは、ＭＡＹＢＥ　ＴＯＮＩＧＨＴというバラードです。
実は、ＭＹ　ＳＨＡＲＯＡＮＡに出会うよりも前に、この曲を
聴いて、気に入って買ったくらいです。
とてもいいバラードですよ。

２作目も演奏時間がやたら短い１２曲編成ですが、なかなかの力作
でした。

それ以後通算５枚のアルバムをリリースしましたが・・・・

やっぱ、この作品が重すぎたみたいですね・・・<!P>そんな彼らの最初で最後の最高傑作、そして８０年代突入前夜の名作
を、是非体験いただきたいと思います。
やっぱ、ＭＵＳＴ　ＢＵＹじゃないでしょうか？

~The Knack といえば My Sharonaだけの一発屋などという人はハッキリ言って
Knackのナの字も知らないとここで断言してしまいます。
他の曲もちゃんと聴いている人は決してそんな認識にはならないでしょう。
ダグ・フィージャーのソングライティングの才能はマジで只者ではないですね。

初めてこのアルバムを聴いてから20年以上経ちますが、いまだにヘビーローテー
ションで聴いています。~

極端な話、バンドのアンサンブルだけでも聴ける。その上に良いメロ・
コーラスワークが乗って更に気持ちよさ倍増。
