ロック界のジェームス・ディーンことエディー・コクランのベスト盤　１９５６年に「バルコニーに座って」でシーンに姿を現し６０年に２１歳という若さで事故で亡くなってしまうが彼の残した功績は偉大でいまだに多くのミュージシャンがフェイバリットに彼の名を挙げている「サマータイム・ブルース」「カモン・エブリバディ」「サムシング・エルス」等のヒット曲は今も歌い継がれていて思いつくだけでもストレイ・キャッツ、シド・ビシャス、ザ・フー、ハンブル・パイ、ブルーチアー、T・REX、子供バンド、RCサクセション、布袋　トモヤス、etc・・・そしてロカビリーバンドは必ずといっていいほど彼の曲をレパートリーに加えている。ブライアン・ジョーンズを始め多くのミュージシャンが亡くなって伝説となったがエディー・コクランが元祖ではないだろうか？皮肉にも亡くなる時「天国まで後三歩」という曲をリリースした直後だった。　スピードの出しすぎに注意というCMを撮った直後に交通事故で死んだジェームス・ディーンとも被ってしまいます

ロカビリー好きで彼を知らない人はいないでしょう。大ヒットを飛ばし続けたわけではないのに，彼の残した功績は偉大なものです。
Eddieはもともとスタジオミュージシャンで，15，6歳の頃から活動していたため，ギターの腕はかなりのものです。あの有名なBrian Setzer も多大な影響を受け，Eddie の作品を多くカヴァーしています。他にもBEATLESやThe Whoも影響を受けています。
偉大なロカビリーギタリストの音を聴きたいと思うなら，聴くべきです♪
