'95年期待の新人バンドだったスーパーグラスのデビューアルバム。
ブリットポップ旋風吹き荒れる中、つまらないバンドが1週間ごとにデビューしていた時代。
そんな中でスーパーグラスのメロディーの良さと、前のめりなビートは新鮮でした。
メンバー2人は当時まだ10代というのにその才能には驚きました。

1stシングル「コウト・バイ・ザ・ファズ」始めシングルヒット「オールライト」他全て誰もが口ずさめる解かりやすさと、ポップなアレンジと疾走感。
初来日公演もこのままの勢いで盛り上がり、イギリス盤LPに収録されていたジミ・ヘンドリックスのカバー「STONE FREE」、
BBCでの「ODD」も演奏しました。

デビューが強烈だったため、2ndアルバムは迷いを感じてしまいましたが近年も高水準なアルバムを作っています。

スーパーグラスの魅力といったら、やはりギャズ＆ミックの超音波ボイス(笑)のハーモニー！ポップで、でもロックの血が間違いなく流れてる、そんな素晴らしいUKバンド！

１曲目からいきなり暴走気味に始まるこのアルバム、デビュー作の初々しさが詰まってます。頭をガツーン！とやられること間違いなしです！

キャッチーなメロディーで疾走、ノリノリになったと思いきや、中盤はバリバリロック！特に｢ルーズ･イット｣｢レニー｣のギターリフはめちゃくちゃかっこよくてぞくぞくしますよ☆
後半はダウンして、マッタリ終わる感じだけど、通しで聴けば気分は晴れ晴れ、元気いっぱいになっちゃうかっこよさ！

デビューアルバムというのは、ビートルズでも誰でも、2nd以降のアルバムには無い独特の勢いが感じられますよね、この作品ももちろんです。
今もアルバムを出したり精力的な活動を続けている彼らの、華々しいスタートをこのアルバムで体験してみてください！オススメです！

　90年代中頃、英国における新型のパンク登場を
感じさせたスーパーグラスの1st。

　スピード感とパワー溢れる楽曲＆演奏はデビュー作ならではの勢い。
もう少し登場してくる年代がズレていたら、間違い無くもっとビッグに
なったはず。
