5.0 out of 5 stars 主題歌だけじゃない！, 2001/9/14
この時代の大ヒット映画のサントラとくれば、数曲ヒットした曲が収められて、あとは知らないアーティストが、というパターンが多々あるが、このサントラは別である。すべての曲が映画の中で使われており、またいい曲ばかりなのだ。個人的にはLauren Woodの「Fallen」という曲がお気に入りでもある。ナタリー・コールやピーター・セテラ、デビッド・ボウイ、レッチリなど超豪華メンバーである。どの曲がどの場面で使われているかなど、サントラと合わせて映画を見るのも楽しいのではないか？もちろんサントラだけでも飽きない曲ばかりである。男の自分がこの「プリティ・ウーマン」のレビューを書いているのもどうかとも思うのだが・・。

　文句無しに楽しめるアルバムだ。映画を観たことがない人でも、８０年代、９０年代のポップスが好みならば充分に満足できる内容だと思う。大ヒットを記録したナタリー・コール、ゴー・ウエストの楽曲はさすがに強烈なインパクトがある。デヴィッド・ボウイの「フェイム９０」も素晴らしい。誰もがよく耳にするであろうロイ・オービソンの名曲「プリティ・ウーマン」はこの映画がきっかけで再び大ヒット。とにかく映画のみならずサントラのほうも話題をふりまいた。個人的に気にいっているのはピーター・セテラの「ノー・エクスプラネーション」で、８０年代、９０年代に彼が放った数々の名バラードが好きな人には大歓迎されること間違い無しの傑作。何しろ作曲があのデイヴィッド・フォスターとくれば納得もしてしまう。

この映画が大好きなので「プリティウーマン」を披露宴のお色直し入場の時にBGMとして使いたいと思い、購入しました。
うん、なかなかいい感じ。
これなら使えそうかな。ただちょっと時間が短いからもう一曲探したほうがいいかも。
そのほかの曲はやはり年代を感じてちょっと古いかな。
でもドライブには向いてます。
