”朝日のようにさわやかに”のイントロ，ドルフィーサウンドに内臓をひっくり返されて，ハンコックの端整なピアノで我にかえる。
あたかもジェットコースターに乗せられているような演奏だとおもいました。
ドルフィーの情念と若きハービー・ハンコックの理性の対比が，すばらしい名演奏を生んだのではないかと思います。

こんなスリリングな演奏を生で聴けたらなーと思わせるCDだと思います。

「ゴッド・ブレス・ザ・チャイルド」は最後までまったくのソロ。
アルトサックスらしき音だが音質もきれいなのに、かすかに息がもれるような…
コルトレーンともスタン・ゲッツともポール・デズモンドともちがう。
メロディも穏やかだがスリリングで8分47秒耳を澄ましてしまう。
最後は演奏後10秒の静寂とおもむろな拍手10秒ですが。

コルトレーンのI Want To About Youで後半やはりまったくのソロになってしまう
のも初めて聴いたときは感動して泣きそうになったが、これもまた別の、深みのある、
たぶん何十回も聴くことになるだろう1曲。
