桂枝雀を知らずして、日本のお笑いは語れない!
日本の落語界にあって、独特なみぶり手ぶりによる芸風と、英語落語というまったく新しい分野を切り開いた桂枝雀。
皆が同じ演目を競い合う古典落語の中にあって、独特の枕、ハイトーンの巻き舌による英単語、大げさに体全身を使ったアクションは、斬新でいて、なおかつ基本に忠実です。
現在テレビなどで活躍中の上方のお笑い芸人の全ての基本が、ここに凝縮されています。

高津の富

上方落語の中でも『高津の富』はかなりポピュラーな落語といえるでしょう。
「ウソじゃありゃせん、ホンマじゃで」
というのが笑いのキッカケになる、主人公が大ボラを吹くくだりが、枝雀落語『高津の富』のひとつの楽しさであります。

『大阪厚生年金会館中ホール』にて収録

この『つぼ算』という落語は、桂枝雀が生涯憧れた、枝雀以前の爆笑王といわれた初代の桂春団治(実質的には二代目になりますが)、それに続く弟子の二代目春団治が得意としていました。

他界してはや1年。独特の動きと声質を持った落語界の重鎮{桂枝雀}。未発表のものと廃盤になった音源をセレクトした永久保存盤に相応しい作品だ。全40タイトルの中の10枚を同時発売。

「高津の富」は、ある男が宿泊先の宿屋の主人から「富くじ（今で言う宝くじ）」を買うというお話。この男、富くじに払ったお金で本当は無一文になってしまったのだが、宿屋の主人には自分は豪商だとほらをふいている。その手前、気前の良さを見せねばならず、当たれば賞金の半分を主人に与えると約束。さてその顛末やいかに？…感想をいえば、高座で枝雀が動き回るシーンがあるため、音源のみではその面白さを味わえないのは残念なところ。ただ、声だけでも十分に楽しめるお話です。大阪の地名も出てきて、大阪在住の人はきっと高津神社まで足を運びたくなるはず。「わてが日ごろ念ずるビリケンさん」というちょっとした一言も心をくすぐる。「つぼ算」は、家庭で使う水をためる「水つぼ」を二人の男が買いに行くお話。そのうちの一人は頭が切れるため、つぼ屋の主人はてんてこ舞いに。聴いている私たちも少し頭をひねらされる。つぼが割れたから買いに行くという話を、枝雀はどうしてこう面白くできるんだろうと感心してしまう作品です。二作品とも大いに笑えます。

僕は枝雀さんの人となりが好きです。
のほほんとしているところ。

落語については，ぼそぼそ話すところが多くて，わかんない。
でも，聞きたい。理解したい。

この落語は，３回聞き流したけど，わからんかった。
そこで，シャドーイングをしてみた。
彼の言うてることを，言ってるそばから口で言ってみた。
口調まで真似をした。

判った。その結果，わかってしまった。
話の流れがぜんぶ判る。
なんで，ぼそぼそ話すのか判る。
ぼそぼそ話すとこは，きかれてもきかれなくても
いい部分だからぼそぼそ話しているのだ。

そこまでわかった。
話の内容にまで身も心もゆだねられた僕は幸せな気持ちになった。

１高津の富
　宝くじが当たってうれしい話。
　特にマクラがおもしろい。お金論だが，覚えておくべき。

２壷算
　商売人を欺こうとする話。
　僕の住んでるところは，大阪近辺。一度，日本橋の電気街で
　試したくなるテクニックである。

「ね」ぇの「１３６５番」で落語ファンにはおなじみの「高津の富」。
お金の無い旦那が無理やり買わされた富くじ（現在の宝くじ）が
なんと・・・●等に当たってしまうまで。
ただそれだけの話なのだが、師匠の話芸が、それだけではすませてくれません。

２ネタ目の「つぼ算」は、イキオイと口八丁で
クチが達者な男が商売人を煙に巻いて、つぼを安値で購入する話。
その口上の速さに笑い
何となくだまされる店の人にも笑い
面白さ爆発の２ネタである。

解説カードに寄稿しているのが
あの！上岡龍太郎 氏！
この人が、そのクチ達者な男と自分が同類だという話を
書いているが、その文章もまた面白い。

枝雀が上岡氏の兄弟子になっていたかもしれないという逸話も
興味深く読める。
ＣＤで楽しみ、解説カードで楽しみ
ものすごく得した気分になれる１枚だ。
